Church Mary's Message

The R.C. Church of St Mary's Message, by architect C.H. de Bever was built in 1940 in the Delft School style. Leo Pessers, a Tilburg manufacturer's son, was the building pastor and was pastor of this parish until 1977. The tower of the original design was never built due to lack of money and the outbreak of war. During World War II, parishioners agreed to build a Lady Chapel if they made it out alive. Consequently, after the war (1951), they built the Lady Chapel behind Mill Hill College on the Venneweg. The church was withdrawn from worship in 2010.
