The Regte Heide

The Regte Heide is Natura 2000 site with an area of some 250 ha. That this European status has been granted to this area is not surprising. De Regte Heide is unique for its spectacular height differences of up to 5 metres. This is due to the transition from heathland to stream valley. As a result, many special bird and butterfly species are found in this area. Various walking routes run through the Regte Heide. The Regte Heide is also called Brabant's best-kept secret. Adjacent are also 't Hoefke, Halve Maan, Ooijevaarsnest and Nieuwkerk. This contiguous nature area totals no less than 876 ha.
