Riel Quays

If you are visiting Riel, you must have noticed that several boulders can be seen in the roadsides and outskirts. These boulders are popularly called "coves". Why is this anyway. Riel is located between a number of fractures which means that several old riverbeds are still present under the surface. These old rivers caused large and small boulders to be deposited. To this day, they still find boulders in the ground in Riel (e.g. with ploughs). These can therefore be traced back to history. Riel is therefore called Kaaiengat with carnival.
