In the Brabant village of Riel lies the small-scale, atmospheric experience farm Van 't Zandeind. A beautiful family business where you can go for honest farm produce, a day out and a well-earned holiday on their farm campsite with private sanitary facilities. There really is always something going on at this special place!

The Shop of Farmer Jos

The farm practises nature-inclusive farming, meaning that nature plays an important role in producing healthy and honest beef. For example, the Hereford and Lakenvelder cows roam outside around nature reserves almost all year round, and animal welfare and animal health are of paramount importance to the Huijbregts family. The meat, which can rightly be called Pure Nature meat, is sold in the farm's meat shop: De Winkel van Boer Jos. Here you can go all day on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and Saturday for an honest piece of beef with a good story. Talking about a good story: the Lakenvelder sausage roll was recently awarded by Visit Brabant because the story around it fits perfectly within the framework of sustainable food experience. You can go there for portioned pieces of meat, as well as large pieces for the barbecue. They also sell ready-made products, have created their own line of croquettes, produce dry sausages, carpaccio and filet americain. So definitely worth a look at this farm shop.

Cow Cuddling Workshop

Besides the Lakenvelders and Herefords, Belgian White-blue cows are also kept on the farm. These animals are the most cuddly of all breeds and they like to receive attention. On the farm, you can therefore attend Cuddle Workshops, where you learn how to communicate with the cow and where farmer Joost tells you all about the farm and their cows. In addition to the workshops, the farm is also available for meetings, company outings and family parties. If desired, a full-day programme including farm games and a covered wagon ride can be organised, ending the day with a real Zandeind barbecue!

Camping with private sanitary facilities

If you want to stay longer at the farm, book a place around their farm campsite soon. The campsite is completely fenced, each pitch is spacious and has private sanitary facilities. An ideal base for walks and cycle rides in the green surroundings, but also a paradise for children! The campsite was recently voted Europe's most child-friendly campsite (Zoover), Brabant's cosiest campsite (Omroep Brabant) and scores a phenomenal 9.8 on Zoover. Don't have your own tent or caravan? No problem, book one of the 2 gypsy caravans. There is a gypsy caravan for 4 and for 6 persons on the campsite.
