Tonight in the Chapel, we present Melanie Ryan and Wim van de Vliert in Country Café NL! A dream hunter with an inner critic; that's the best way to describe IJsselstein singer-songwriter Melanie Ryan. These topics also resonate in her music. With tuneful guitars and energetic mandolin & banjo parts, she takes you along and tells you about her "roots", her musical journey and about love. Melanie's style cannot really be put into one genre. During her study trip to Nashville, she further developed her songwriting skills and discovered that her musical style is an interwoven mix of Pop, Country and Folk. "Braided Style Music", she also calls it. Bringing this Braided Style Music with true Nashville-style storytelling to a wider audience is Melanie's biggest dream. And if you want to discover this style of music for yourself, listen to her 2nd EP "Girl From '99". You may recognise Melanie from various singing competitions, including "Giel's Talentenjacht" by radio DJ Giel Beelen (2016), SBS6 TV show "We Want More", where she sang a duet with jury member Davina Michelle (2020) and in 2023 from the first Regio Songfestival where she represented the Utrecht region. She also sang her own song live during 3FM's "Debut in a Minute" at the Glass House during Serious Request 2023. In 2024, her music took an even bigger flight. That's when she supported Country pop star "Dasha" in the Melkweg, played her single "Wildfire" for the first time on NPO radio 2's Muziekcafé and participated in the Popronde! Dutch best country singer Wim van de Vliert was at the forefront of Ilse DeLange's early successes with his band. He has a great love for honest, pure music. A singer-guitarist who impresses with his own sound. He played with, among others, the popular West Virginian Railroad, Ilse de Lange and Rachel Kramer. Wim has already won many (country) awards and made solo appearances at the renowned CMA festival in Nashville USA. His musical development then continued with many projects including Danny Vera, Eagles Tribute Band and various (inter)national artists. Wim is not only an excellent guitarist, but also shows himself as the Dutch Keith Urban and, in addition, he is easily compared to Vince Gill. In spring 2025, he already played a few songs solo and together with Rob Crosby in our Chapel and it was a great success!
