Pieter de Graaf started his musical career with his own jazz ensemble and with The Kyteman Orchestra, but has been playing solo since 2018. Improvising, he combines simple melodies with virtuoso passages. In this way, he creates neo-classical piano music with a unique sound of his own that is always evolving. As a solo artist, Pieter previously released the album 'Fermata' (2019), followed by the EP 'Vortex' (2019). And with success, at the 2020 Edisons Classical, he won the prizes in the neoclassical category! The jury on Pieter de Graaf: "A whirlwind, a vortex of sounds and ideas, urgently and decisively put on record. But perhaps most importantly, despite his drive for innovation, De Graaf sounds completely like De Graaf." He released an acoustic album in 2024 and a follow-up album in 2025. As part of these albums, Pieter is touring solo, on the grand piano, acoustically this spring. In our Chapel, this is going to sound wonderful so we are proud to be part of the playlist!
