Who doesn't know them, all those beautiful songs... in our own mother tongue. Jeffrey Schenk takes you on a journey through the past 40 years, and maybe even further back, to the very best hits. Hits by Hazes, Neyman, Sonneveld, Boeijen and so on. You know them all and they all pass by in this performance. And with all the songs you will think; 'oh yes, you remember when'. That's the beauty of music, especially music in our own language. There is always a memory attached to it. 'Almost 20 years ago in Café Bolle Jan in Amsterdam, René Froger and his father (bolle) Jan gave me the chance to learn the business. To entertain, and above all to convey emotion. To tell the story. I lasted 14 years there as a regular singer, entertaining and moving the audience'. Performances at home and abroad followed. Quite soon came many collaborations, studio recordings and concerts with Cor Bakker, which eventually grew into a friendship. Jeffrey also featured in the very last episode of 'The Voice of Holland' (in 2022) that aired, before it was unfortunately taken off the tube due to all the abuses. Three coaches turned, and eventually Jeffrey ended up on Waylon's team. How this went on, his adventures in Amsterdam at Café Bolle Jan, the duets with Paul de Leeuw, his collaboration with Macy from 'The Bold and The Beautiful' and countless other anecdotes you're sure to hear in this show as well, because all these stories are all related to the genesis of this show.
